Living by the coast allows anything made of steel to rust and decay. Your HVAC filter drier usually placed outside by the condenser or inside the condenser. This drier protects the your HVAC by removing any moisture that may leark in the system. over time this drier will rust and decay and eventully leak out refrigerant. If your filter drier begins to rust I recomment being proactive and replace the drier before more damage to the HVAC. Home & Comfort Inspections can do this.
